Terms of Service

Totxt.ai turns media into text. You can upload audio, video or image files and get back a transcript, text read from an image, a translation, a transliteration, a summary, or an export as TXT, HTML, DOCX or PDF. Where a recording allows voices to be told apart, a transcript can be split by speaker.

The service changes as we develop it, and we may add, change or remove features.

Some features need an account and a verified email address. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at i@totxt.ai if you believe someone else has access to it.

You keep all rights to the files you upload and to the text produced from them. You give us permission to store and process that content for one purpose only: providing the service to you, which includes sending it to the processing providers named in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for what you upload. You must have the right to upload each file and to have it transcribed, translated or summarised, including any permission needed from the people recorded in it.

Free and paid plans each include a monthly allowance of transcription minutes and limits on the length and size of a single file. Current allowances and prices are on the Pricing page.

Minute allowances reset at the start of each calendar month (UTC), and unused minutes do not carry over.

Minutes are deducted when a file is accepted for processing, based on how long it is. If processing then fails, those minutes are not returned automatically — contact us and we will look at it.

Paid plans are sold as monthly subscriptions that renew until cancelled. Renewal, cancellation and refunds are described in our Refund Policy.

Transcription, reading text from images, translation, transliteration and summaries are produced by automated systems and will contain mistakes. Accuracy varies with recording quality, accents, background noise, image quality and language.

You must check any output you intend to rely on. Do not use Totxt output as the only basis for a medical, legal, financial, employment or other consequential decision, and do not treat it as professional advice.

The language of each file is detected automatically, and detection is not always right.

The Totxt.ai service, its software, name and branding belong to us. These terms give you no right to use them beyond using the service as intended.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, or adjust limits, to keep it running for everyone.

You may stop using Totxt at any time; email i@totxt.ai if you want your account deleted. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used unlawfully, or where the law requires it. Refunds after an account is closed are handled under our Refund Policy.

So far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or lost data, or for decisions taken on the basis of automated output that was not checked. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law that applies to you.

Totxt depends on third-party providers for AI processing, payments, email delivery and hosting. Their own terms govern their part of the service; the categories of provider we use are set out in our Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and continuing to use Totxt after a change means you accept the updated terms.
